Make Your Own: Pain Relief Cream

Pain Relief Balm

Ingredients for 50 ml:

  • 18 ml coconut oil

  • 9 ml calendula vegetable oil

  • 9 ml arnica or St. John's Wort vegetable oil

  • 6 g of beeswax

For a formula with 15% essential oil (EO) (total 7.5 ml):

  • 13 drops peppermint EO

  • 20 drops wintergreen EO

  • 20 drops frankincense EO

  • 20 drops cajeput EO

  • 14 drops lemon eucalyptus EO

  • 20 drops clove EO

  • 20 drops rosemary EO

  • 20 drops pine EO

  • 20 drops lavender super EO

  • 20 drops juniper EO

In a saucepan, measure and pour the oils along with the beeswax. Heat over low heat just until everything mixes well and the beeswax melts. Let it cool slightly.

Meanwhile, in a bowl, measure each essential oil and mix them together. Add the vegetable oils to the essential oil mixture. Mix well and pour the preparation into a glass container (preferably recycled) for proper storage.

And there you have it, your balm is ready.

  • Scots pine essential oil: rubefacient, lymphatic decongestant, cortisone-like

  • Lavandin essential oil: muscle relaxant, powerful antispasmodic

  • Common juniper essential oil: general stimulant, anti-rheumatic

  • Beeswax: film-forming, stabilizing, texturizing
